What is Good News Unlimited
Good News Unlimited is a Christian service organization with corporate offices in Auburn California. It is an evangelical, interdenominational, non-profit ministry.
Through printed, and spoken media, GNU publishes the good news of Jesus Christ. The events of Christ's death and resurrection are seen as the central Christian revelation, and of more importance than any other Bible teaching.
What is the Mission of Good News Unlimited
To offer to all, meaning and direction for living, through a knowledge of God's encounter with humanity, through his son, Jesus Christ.
What is the Position of GNU in Relation to Historic Christianity?
GNU is dedicated to three principle reference points of the Christian faith.
- THE CENTRALITY OF THE GOSPEL
The gospel centers on the person and work of Christ in history. In Jesus Christ, God's final verdict on humanity has been rendered. Therefore the gospel anticipates fully, God's decision in the final judgment. It (the gospel) is the window through which all of life , and history is to be seen and understood.
- THE AUTHORITY, SUFFICIENCY, AND CLARITY OF THE BIBLE
The Bible is exclusively authoritative in all matters of faith and practice. While its writers reflect their contemporary world views, these do not compromise the integrity of their witness. Though all Scripture is not uniformly clear, the Bible is essentially clear in its central message-the good news of Jesus Christ.
- THE PRIESTHOOD OF ALL BELIEVERS
The gospel, through the Scriptures, is the central means by which God expresses himself in the world. It is the basis on which fellowship is built. True fellowship is expressed in a congregational setting. The primary purpose of church government is the orderly preservation, teaching, and promotion of the gospel message. GNU affirms all forms of church government, compatible with this objective. We share kinship with all who have embraced the good news of Jesus regardless of human distinctives such as race, color, and denominational ties.
What are the Goals of Good News Unlimited?
- Develop, preserve, and share, a body of religious thought, focusing on the work of Jesus Christ, as the essential, and central Christian teaching.
- Emphasize the 'objective' nature of salvation; demonstrating the good news as, 'apart from law'-greater than, and not identical with, any one creed, tradition, or rule of conduct.
- Teach the way of peace and assurance, through a growing appreciation of Christ's complete achievement as the perfectly competent high priest.
- Present Christianity, not as an enslavement to forms and impersonal codes, but as a joyful relationship with God, through Christ.
- Seek liberation for service, for any, and all who are bound by sectarianism or legalism.
- Foster an ethic for personal spirituality, and for public life through an ongoing examination of the Scriptural witness to Jesus Christ.
New at Good News Unlimited
Good News Unlimited Magazine: Subscribers will be interested to learn that beginning with the MAY issue, GNU magazine will be a monthly production instead of bi-monthly, as has been the pattern for the last two years. Austerity measures forced the curtailment of production, and we have been yearning for the day when we could return to our regular monthly printing. That day has come, and we thank God, and our supporters.
Good News Unlimited magazine will continue to promote a spirituality that majors in God's work for us, rather than on our work for God-the objective achievement of Christ as Son of God, son of man. Watch for GNU 'monthly' magazine postings on these pages.
What Means Does GNU Employ to Achieve Its Goals?
- Good News Unlimited Magazine
A sixteen page publication, issued every month. Articles consist of expository meditations on Scripture, which seek to place human life, and the world scene beneath the illumination of Christ. Personal testimonies, letters from readers, and editorial responses are also included. GNU magazine also keeps readers informed of GNU speaking engagements, and seminars. GNU magazine is free upon request.
- Bible Schools
Bible schools are conducted throughout the year at various locations around the United States, Canada and Australia. Please see the schedule for information on upcoming Bible Schools. These Bible schools are dedicated to the study of the good news of Jesus and his kingdom of grace. This good news is spelled out most clearly in Paul's Roman and Galatian letters, and epitomized in the events of Jesus' death and resurrection. The Bible schools are free of charge, and open to all.
- Tape of the Month

What is the Gospel?
Now do you see it? No one can ever be made right in God's sight by doing what the law commands. For the more we know of God's laws, the clearer it becomes that we aren't obeying them; his laws serve only to make us see that we are sinners.
But now, God has shown us a different way to heaven -- not by being good enough, and trying to keep his laws, but by a new way (though not new, really, for the Scriptures told about it long ago). Now God says he will accept and acquit us-declare us not guilty-if we trust Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, by coming to Christ, no matter who we are, or what we have been like. Yes, all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious ideal; yet now God declares us not guilty of offending him, if we trust in Jesus Christ, who in his kindness, freely takes away our sins (Romans 3:20-24 The Living Bible).
I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes; first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by his faith" (Romans 1:16+17 NIV).
